Attracting Prosperity: Key Practice #1 Meditation

Last week I said I’d be sharing 5 key practices for creating the conditions to attract prosperity. These were developed based on my years of work with success/money/wealth/prosperity, and are all rooted in VALUE. You must value yourself enough to be a priority in your own life, and commit to practices that open the blockages and allow prosperity to flow. I hope that you dedicate yourself to practicing each one, because if you do, you will experience a dramatic difference in your life.

KEY PRACTICE #1- MEDITATION

I know, meditation is something we hear all the time, then come up with a million excuses not to do it, such as:

  • I’m not a meditator
  • I can’t sit still
  • I don’t have time to meditate
  • I’ve tried it and it doesn’t work for me
  • My brain just won’t shut off
  • I don’t see the connection

Meditation is actually fundamental to attracting success and prosperity! Here’s why:

  • It aligns you with the Universe/God/Spirit/Eternal/Source Energy (whichever term you prefer)
  • It connects you with your inner guidance, wisdom and clarity
  • It releases resistance, creating an environment that encourages the results you want to produce
  • It allows you to focus on your priorities (whatever you focus on expands), keeping you centered and "above the fray"

Meditation helps keep you from getting entangled in daily drama, obstacles or circumstances that may be upsetting and take you out of alignment with who you are. It’s easy to get caught up in day-to-day life, so meditation shifts that focus internally to connect with what you truly want. Do it consistently and you will be much less rattled by temporary upsets and external situations beyond your control. Meditation puts you in the success zone!

Tips for Meditation

The key to a successful meditation practice is consistency, so set realistic goals. If you can’t commit to 30 minutes daily, start with five minutes, then build up time as you can. It helps to do it at the same time each day to build the habit, so create a meditation trigger. I personally recommend mediating first thing in the morning. Perhaps when you first get out of bed (that is what I do). It could also be while the coffee is brewing or before you take a shower.

Thoughts will naturally come into your head; that’s not a meditation failure. But instead of clinging to them, let them pass. When you notice your mind getting stuck in thought, bring your focus back to breathing. There’s a reason meditation is a PRACTICE!

How to Meditate

The kind of Meditation that I recommend is to sit quietly and simply focus on your breath. There are even meditation apps you can download at no charge. Insight Timer (free version) is the one that I use. Love it!

Remember, there’s no wrong way to meditate. Notice your resistance and do it anyway. Commit to five minutes (or more) each day this week. Keep up the practice and you WILL experience the MAJOR difference in your day; more ease, more productivity, more miracles, more present to your ‘abundance mindset.’

I look forward to hearing the difference that meditation is making in your life!
