Attracting Prosperity: Connecting With Your Joy Part 2

Today I want to share with you some further thoughts I have on Key Practice #7, Connecting With Your Joy

Last Sunday was Mother's Day. I am lucky to still have my 94-year-old mother with me, so I took her out for a special meal. I gave her a beautiful card with the right sentiments that was authentic for me. We ate at one of San Francisco's finest Indian restaurants, and, as I was relishing the complex flavors from my dinner, and watched my mother open her card in the lovely surroundings, I felt that I had indeed been blessed by joyous circumstances.

Later, I realized that all the joy in this circumstance had been generated from inside me. I realized the joyful event started when I planned the event and invited my mother. Joyful intent was present when I searched for the card, knowing my mother's importance for thoughtful words. Joyful intent was carried out due to my mother, who made herself available for a day out in spite of the daily hardships of aging, and who received my gifts so graciously.

Eckhart Tolle speaks to this when he says that joy is a force that is already present: "Joy does not come from what you do, it flows into what you do and thus into this world from deep within you."

Having the mind-set that will attract joy is the same mind-set that will attract abundance. Remember how I emphasized the importance of meditation for creating the right mind-set (Key Practice #1)? Meditation helps reset your brain and clear it of negative patterns so that you can reclaim the joy that is your birthright. Attracting abundance becomes easy once you settle into this mindset. The more joy you generate, the more it will spill over into your relationships with others, and the more spontaneous joy you will be able to create together--just as my mother and I did at our meal last Sunday.

A wooden sign with the words live your life

Do you see how easily all the Key Practices for Attracting Prosperity flow into each other? In addition to Key Practice #1 (Meditation), this event put into action Gratitude (Key Practice #2), Generosity (#4), and Being Part of a Community (#6). Ultimately, all of the practices reinforce each other to create a vibrant whole that is much more than the sum of its parts, and which vibrates back at you in the form of increased well-being for you and your loved ones.

Now that I have given you a list of all 7 of my Key Practices for Attracting Prosperity, your task this week is to put them all together. Pick one of the Key Practices--the one you resonate with the best--and write it at the top of the page. Then write free-form showing how one quality flows from the other, giving examples from your own life. This is the time to reinforce positive experiences you have had and recognize how they vibrate out into the world.

xoxo,

Rita
