Sacred Money Archetypes and Their Unconscious Beliefs
In Jungian psychology, an Archetype is an inherited pattern of thought or symbolic image that is derived from the past collective experience of humanity and is present in the unconscious of the individual. They represent stories, beliefs, motivations, fears, courage and perspectives.
There are 8 Money Archetypes and each one has a set of strongly held unconscious beliefs that prevent it from fulfilling unlimited success and money. Below are just a couple for each Archetype.
Accumulator:
- Money is limited and something I feel guilty spending
- Having money makes me superior
Alchemist:
- Money shouldn’t be a motivator
- Money is irrelevant to a happy life and I resent it’s importance
Connector:
- Money will always be there when I need it
- Making or managing Money is something I avoid thinking about
Celebrity:
- Money is a tool to achieve status, image and recognition
- Money is a measure of social rank
Maverick:
- Money is used to take risks and invest
Nurturer:
- Money is meant to help others more than helping me
- Money is a means to stay connected in my relationships and shows my generosity and love
Romantic:
- Money is meant to be spent purely for pleasure and to feel gratification
- There is no point in saving money!
Ruler:
- Money is a measure of one’s self worth
- There is never enough money to be satisfied
